Barcelona is a maybe

There are no Dice & Tale game days in Barcelona. We would like there to be, and that depends entirely on somebody there wanting to start one.

What starting a city actually takes

Not much, and less than people expect. Berlin began with eighteen people in a café. What it needs is:

  • One person who will pick a date. This is the whole job and the only irreplaceable part.
  • A room with tables. A bookshop, a board game café, a bar with a back room. Two tables is a game day. Eight came later.
  • Two or three game masters willing to run a one-shot for strangers. They do not need to have done it before.
  • Nothing else. Booking, the code of conduct, the safety tools, the way the schedule is published, the poster template — all of that already exists and is yours to use.

What you would get

The name, the booking setup, the content warnings and safety tooling, and somebody in Berlin who has run this monthly since 2024 and will tell you honestly what went wrong the first six times.

What you would not get is money. Nobody is paid anywhere, including in Berlin.

If that is you

Write to diceandtale@gmail.com. Tell us where you are and whether you have a room in mind. That is enough to start the conversation.

In the meantime, the Berlin game days are open to anyone who happens to be there, and what actually happens describes a day end to end if you want to see what you would be copying.
